For his part, the rector of the University of Valladolid, Antonio Largo, said that today was an important day for students and their families but also for the academic institution. Not in vain, he said that the Faculty of Medicine has provided them with a “very good” training, aware of the importance of graduates in Health Sciences for the Community.

In a ceremony that took place in the Miguel Delibes Auditorium, José María Fidel Fernández asked the graduates of Medicine to make an effort and study until retirement age, since the technological revolution forces professionals to be “up to date” because diagnostic methods and therapeutic treatments are updated at all times. He also urged them to “never” lose their enthusiasm despite the “overwhelming” and “exaggerated” daily work. In this sense, he encouraged them to travel to learn other methods of approaching the profession. On the other hand, he recommended that they learn, “like sponges”, the experiences of the most experienced professionals to get to know the “true” path of the profession, without forgetting to be generous with the younger ones who want to learn as well as to form teams, which is the future of modern medicine.
